I’ve been pulling together my annual update to the UkeTunes songbook. And in the process I’ve come across a number of songsheets that I’d put together over the last twelve months for various reasons, and which haven’t made it on to this site. So I thought I’d collect them all together into a single post, in an attempt to clear the decks. Here they are – click on the song titles for the song sheets:
- Always Remember Us This Way – Lady Gaga
From last year’s re-re-make of A Star Is Born comes this rather great power ballad from Lady Gaga.
- Andante Andante – Abba
Another movie-inspired song, this slightly obscure Abba album track (from 1980’s Super Trouper) found its way into the Mamma Mia sequel, and as a result has had a new lease of life breathed into it.
- I Feel The Earth Move – Carole King
From Carole King’s stone-cold classic album. One day I’ll get round to doing an album songbook for this one.
- I Wish – Stevie Wonder
Another great song from a classic album, this time Stevie Wonder’s Songs In The Key Of Life. Funky.
- Landslide – Fleetwood Mac
- Rhiannon – Fleetwood Mac
Two classics from Fleetwood Mac, the album before Rumours, and the one that acted as the launch-pad for mega-stardom.
- Little Lies – Fleetwood Mac
…and one from their 80s block-buster, Tango In The Night.
- Rocket Man – Elton John
I re-did this for a recent Southampton Ukulele Jam session. But looks like this is going to be another movie-inspired song as well, with the upcoming release of Rocketman.
- Smile Like You Mean It – The Killers
Mr Brightside works so well on the uke. So why not this one.
- The Lucky One – Alison Krauss
A beautiful, sublime ballad from the rather lovely Alison Krauss. This was one of the first tracks that got me into country music.
- The Village Green Preservation Society – The Kinks
I did this for a little duo performance I did recently with my friend Doug. If you scour YouTube or Facebook for long enough you might find it but I’m not going to point it out to you!
- Walking On Sunshine – Katrina and the Waves
Two-hit wonders (remember, they were the last UK winner of Eurovision) this classic mid-80s pop/rock tracks is a stormer.
